We’re proud to continue supporting the incredible charities and community projects making a real difference in Southport and Ainsdale.
Through our Howard’s Funeral Directors Community Assistance Programme, we’ve re-opened our grant scheme to help even more local organisations, carry out their valuable work.
Earlier this year, we awarded a total of £1,000 to four inspiring causes:
- St Stephen’s Coffee – £100 to support their weekly community coffee morning at church.
- Bebe’s Hive CIC – £300 to fund child grief programmes.
- Cradle – £300 to provide pregnancy loss support.
- Cherish Lipreading – £300 to help run 11-week lipreading courses.
Each of these organisations plays a vital role in supporting people through difficult times, and we’re honoured to stand alongside them.
Funeral Director Derek Crawford said: “It’s inspiring to see the range of important projects being delivered in Southport and Ainsdale, and we are so pleased to be able to support them. Each of these initiatives makes a real difference to local people, and we look forward to building relationships with those doing crucial work here in our community.
“I’d encourage any other local not-for-profit causes who could benefit to get in touch – we’d love to hear from you for the next cycle.”
The Howard’s Funeral Directors Community Assistance Programme has now reopened for applications, with projects taking place within three miles of their funeral homes in Roe Lane, Southport, and Station Road, Ainsdale eligible to apply.
Grants are available to fund local activities which improve the quality of life of residents and the wider community. Projects must align with one or more of the fund’s four categories – Health, Education, Employment Opportunities, and Poverty and Social Deprivation.
This is the second of three application cycles, with the final one set to open later this year.
