Southport and Ainsdale community fund re-opens after thousands donated to local causes
We’re proud to continue supporting the incredible charities and community projects making a real difference...

As a way of giving back to our local area, the Howard’s Community Assistance Programme aims to provide funding support for community-based projects which improve the quality of life of people living within the local community of Howard's Funeral Directors’s branches in Southport and Ainsdale.
Local charities will be awarded funding toward the cost of a specific, community-focused project. We aim to fund projects that run for 3 months or longer, but we may consider shorter projects if ongoing community benefits can be demonstrated.
In order to be eligible to receive funding, the project must align with one or more of the fund categories: Health, Education, Employment Opportunities, Poverty/Social Deprivation. Grants are available for amounts up to £1,000.
We will run two application cycles over the course of the year:
| Applications open | Applications close | Winners informed by | |
| Cycle one | 16/02/2026 | 29/03/2026 | 10/05/2026 |
If you work with a charity in need of funding for community projects in Churchtown, Crossens, Birkdale, Woodvale or surrounding areas, we encourage you to apply. We particularly welcome applications from small, local not-for-profit organisations embedded in their communities.
Applications should be submitted to Howards.community@funeralpartners.co.uk
Please read the guidance notes for most information about charity eligibility and how the grants will be awarded.
